Job Description

  • Plan, direct, or coordinate the activities of buyers, purchasing officers, and related workers involved in purchasing materials, products, and services.
  • Maintain records of goods ordered and received.
  • Locate vendors of materials, equipment or supplies, and interview them in order to determine product availability and terms of sales.
  • Prepare and process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment.
  • Raises the local Purchase Order (LPO) in the name of the supplier selected.
  • Follows up and ensures that goods are delivered in accordance with the purchase order and without any delay.
  • Maintains all documents, files and listings up-to-date and performs his duties in the most efficient manner.
  • Improve performance, productivity, efficiency and profitability through the implementation of effective methods and strategies.
  • Setting and reviewing operational budgets and managing cost.
  • Overseeing inventory, distribution of goods and facility layouts.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Previous experience as a Purchasing Manager is an asset
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience ( Purchasing & Receiving ).
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Management, Business Administration or a relevant degree
  • Strong interpersonal, organization and follow-through skills
  • Ability to develop and build relationships and utilize skills appropriately
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • An understanding of mathematics and basics of accounting
