Job Objective:
Its main goal is to publish and disseminate books, scholarly journals, case studies, working papers, and roundtable reports all over the world.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Managerial:
- To plan and develop strategic partnerships with academic and professional organizations all over the world to generate high-quality manuscripts for publishing.
- To organize meetings of experts to evaluate the manuscripts.
- To grow the Publishing House portfolio of products and services (online & physical) which are responsive to the needs of learners, professionals and organizations.
- To position the Publishing House as a support arm for researchers in the Arab World.
- To develop effective strategies for marketing and generating revenue from the Publishing House distribution channels, outlets and clients.
- To prepare budget, strategic plan and annual report relating to the Publishing House.
- To plan and execute strategies relating to e-publishing.
- To co-ordinate with other departments for publishing and disseminating scientific materials.
- To provide leadership to subordinate staff in achieving KPIs.
Technical:
- To manage portals such as QME, journals and working paper series.
- To be responsible for the initiation and development of technical alliances and relationships with international publishing organizations.
- To develop processes, policies and procedures pertinent to the Publishing House.
- To work closely with the line manager for growing the Publishing House and engaging faculty and learners in research-oriented publishing.
- To develop and manage the e-Store project successfully.
Desired Profile
- Master’s degree in any discipline, preferably in publishing.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in publishing or relevant area, preferably in online publishing.
- Sound knowledge of professional market to operate locally, regionally and at an international level.
- Ability to develop and manage relationships, partnerships and strategic alliances.
- Strong leadership, management and team building skills.
- Ability to lead, inspire and motivate a large and complex team of professional staff.
- Ability to edit manuscripts in English and Arabic.
- Considerable experience of innovation and product development.
- Excellent communication, presentation and ambassadorial skills.
